Chapter 20 / Skunk County / Oct 5, 2026

The farm has a basement. It has opinions.

The surface-first plan changed when a bounded Underworld pilot became the next priority.

A real change of direction

The October 4 plan put surface work before caverns. Later directed development opened a bounded first cavern beneath the farm, then connected a wider ring. The history keeps both decisions: the underground work was a later change, not a secret day-one plan.

Getting in was only the beginning

Native reviews covered entering and leaving, return positions, collision around the cart, menu behavior and cold restart. Some long routes used an explicitly disclosed packet driver. Actual E, F and cargo controls were exercised, but this is not blanket proof of held-key movement or every camera angle.

A cart cannot print vegetables

The first working cargo loop moved one real twelve-unit grown-harvest reservation between player and cart. Loading reserved stock; the market delivery consumed it and paid once. Cold restart recovered a single shipment outside. Repeated requests and lost replies could not turn one harvest into two.

The test also found a stubborn exit

Some sessions closed normally and others hung after saving. Those clean sessions were useful evidence, but they did not settle the shutdown problem. That became its own release story.

Evidence & perspective

  • The first cart carried a real harvest · 2026-10-05 · Native development review

Private native tests tracked a genuine grown-harvest reservation through loading, riding, cold restart and once-only delivery. Long movement routes used disclosed ordinary input packets; this was not a complete physical-keyboard playthrough.

  • Finite mining and conserved cart cargo · 2026-10-06 · Native development review

Seven material types, depletion, a 24-unit mixed-ore cart, native actions and cold recovery were checked. Mining integration and entrance-threshold defects were repaired. This is not a replenishing-resource or complete crafting system.
